DA increases support by 2.26% in Emfuleni
The Democratic Alliance’s (DA) Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) Mayoral candidate Dady Mollo says the DA will continue to fight for residents by rooting out corruption.
EMFULENI. – This follows the Local Government Elections (LGE) which garnered DA a 2.26 % increase from 24.65% in 2016 to 26.91% in 2021.
Mollo says, “The DA will ensure a clean environment in every community, bring sustainable basic service delivery for all, save resident from untreated wastewater contaminating the environment, homes, streets, and sidewalks, ensure that every cent is spent according to the benefit of residents and root out cadre deployment.”
The DA managed to retain all their wards in ELM. “We wish to thank the residents of Emfuleni who came out and voted for the DA. DA remains committed to serving in the interest of all residents by fighting for uninterrupted service delivery in Emfuleni.”
Mollo states that the dynamics of the ELM council have changed dramatically with the ANC’s support that has fallen to below 40%. “This means that Emfuleni council is now a hung council and every council decision will require the votes of at least two of the three major parties in the council to pass.
“The DA gives its undertaking to the voters of Emfuleni that we will always use our voting power responsibly and will always vote in the best interest of the residents and the municipality to ensure proper financial management and service delivery. We will do our utmost best to help turn around a failing municipality.”
