Pirates supporters celebrate Mother’s Day in style

" We could not ignore the fact that we have supporters who are the mothers."

SEBOKENG.- The Orlando Pirates Sebokeng Greater Supporters Branch joined millions of South Africans to celebrate Mother’s Day on Sunday.

What was supposed to be the branch general meeting turned into a celebration for the mothers. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, the branch publicist, Mzwakhe Zondo, said they used the opportunity to celebrate Mother’s Day.

Zondo said they could not ignore the fact that they have supporters who are the mothers. He told Sedibeng Ster Sport that it was also important to honour and acknowledge the mothers who gave birth to the players who play for Orlando Pirates.

He was referring to Relebohile Mofokeng, Tshepang Moremi, Mpho Chabatsane, Boitumelo Radiopane, and Thabiso Lebitso, who come from this region.

“We wanted to show them how much we appreciate them. These are the people who carried these players for nine months before the world knew about them. Today we have at least five players from Sedibeng who are playing for the Orlando Pirates senior team,” he said proudly.
