SANDF deployed as shoppers in Orange Farm ignore lockdown rules

ORANGE-FARM. - The South African National Defense Force (SANDF) today had to disperse crowds at Eyethu Mall in Orange Farm after they were seen to be breaking lockdown regulations.

In a video posted by Captain Sonto Kubheka, Joint Tactical Headquarters Gauteng, members of the SANDF are seen working tirelessly, trying to restore law and order.

It is also alleged that no social distancing was maintained while people lined up to gain access into the stores.

Following the incident, Eyethu Mall had to close for the remainder of the day.

In a Facebook post, Eyethu Mall said: As our country goes into national lockdown, Eyethu Orange Farm Mall will be partially closed. Please take note of the selected stores that will be trading during lockdown.

*Please note that Eyethu Orange Farm Mall is closed for the remainder of the day. The centre will reopen tomorrow.
