In a scene straight out of Wagner’s epic music-drama ‘The Ring of the Nibelungen’, Adolf Hitler ends his evil reign. After bidding farewell to the few loyal aides remaining with him in his Berlin bunker hideaway, the megalomaniac who reduced his country and much of Europe to ashes, retired to his suite and shot himself.

His former mistress and wife of just 48 hours Eva Braun took a cyanide potassium capsule. In accordance with Hitler’s instructions, both bodies were then burnt.
