New station commander at Umkomaas Saps

Colonel Samkelisiwe Favourite Mncwango is described as a dedicated leader guided by the principles of integrity and resilience.

The former station commander of Mahlabathini Saps, Colonel Samkelisiwe Favourite Mncwango, is now the new station commander at Umkomaas police station.

She has a National Diploma in Policing, Bachelor of Technology in Policing, Masters Degree in Policing, Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management and an Honours Degree in Forensic Investigation.

Umkomaas Saps spokesperson, Captain Ranjith Rampersad, described Mncwango as a dedicated servant, leader and hero guided by the principles of integrity and resilience.

She has also undergone numerous senior management courses in Paarl, including the station management programme.

“I am a disciplined commissioned officer, and my leadership approach is principled, people-centred, focussed to achieve the targets in the station operational plan,” explained Mncwango.

She also places on record the stewardship of the previous acting station commander, Lieutenant Colonel Mthembeni Zungu, who held the fort and baton diligently. Thanks and gratitude are extended to the other commanders, organised labour and officers for going the extra mile and holding the Umkomaas flag high.

Mncwango is ready to work together with the local community police forum as well.
