Ugu District records over 350 deaths

Overall, 255 000 positive cases have been identified in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) and over 5 400 deaths.

Covid-19 continues to rise in South Africa, according to the Department of Health.

So far, Ugu District, has recorded over 14 000 confirmed cases and over 350 deaths. The recovery rate in the district now stands at 9 889.

Overall, 255 000 positive cases have been identified in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) and over 5 400 deaths.

The majority of the active cases are in KZN, with 66 337 patients who are currently infected.

At the time of writing, the death toll stood at over 34 300 nationally.

In addition, the country currently has 206 000 active cases and over 1 million recoveries.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) reported over 89 700 000 confirmed global cases of Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic, including over 1 900 000 deaths, to date.
