Walkers enjoy Shoreline Challenge from Lucien beach to Ramsgate

The next walk is from Ramsgate to Southbroom on June 28 at 08:00..

About 200 walkers took part in the third leg of the Shoreline Challenge on June 14, enjoying a scenic walk from Lucien Beach to Ramsgate.

The event, organised by the Mzimkhulu Honorary Officers, combines outdoor recreation with environmental awareness and coastal clean-ups.

Chairperson Daniel Opland thanked walkers for their support and gave special recognition to the Boogie Babes, who helped clean the Margate area ahead of the walk in support of Tidy Towns Shelly to Margate.

Opland encouraged walkers to collect litter along the route, saying the real heroes are those who help keep the coastline clean.

“The champions aren’t always the fastest walkers. They’re the ones who cross the finish line carrying a bag of litter,” he said.

The next walk (4th leg) is from Ramsgate to Southbroom on June 28 at 08:00.

Registration is at 07:30.
