BRONWYN TANNER – Tuning In: Silver medal and personal best for Comrades runner
Community news and events in the mid-South Coast.
Well done to Myles Usher (ex Scottburgh) who participated in the Comrades Marathon.
He said: “This race just keeps giving back! 07:27, a personal best and my first Up Run silver. Comrades is not all about the medals, it’s about the discipline to put in six months of hard work, planning and dedication, and what that brings to your growth as a person. I love the time out there, nobody to save you, finding a way to answer the questions asked of you by this amazing stretch of road. For me, pulling a solid negative split, 18km to go thinking the silver was gone, buckling down and finding a way was special for me, arriving within minutes of my race plan. The support and camaraderie of this race makes me so proud to be South African. Thanks so much to my parents, Steve and Cheryl Usher for being the best seconders I love you guys. I look forward to starting all over again for #12 on the big 100.”
