Kiss costs Murchison doctor R5 000

His 16-year-old victim was pregnant at the time.

CONGOLESE doctor, Pierre Jean Okitokende, (47), who was charged with sexual assault, pleaded guilty in the Port Shepstone Regional Court on Monday this week.

Dr Okitokende was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment, wholly suspended for five years. He also has to pay R5 000 compensation to his teenage victim.

A 16-year-old girl, who was pregnant in 2012, had gone to Murchison Hospital for medical attention.

Dr Okitokende directed the patient to another room where she was to undergo a scan. The doctor then entered the room and kissed her in an inappropriate manner.

The doctor worked at the hospital for five years, up until 2012, and lived in Oslo Beach.
