No loud bangs at Wild Coast New Year bash

OUT of respect for the surrounding community and its pets, the Wild Coast Sun has introduced a ‘low noise firework policy’.

The Wild Coast Sun will once again light up the skies with its traditional dazzling firework extravaganza to ring in the new year on December 31.

“For this year’s New Year’s Eve we have selected a low noise firework display that uses a small shell of 1.2 to 3 inches and where the sound is contained in a radius of 1km. Shells larger than 3 inches are not allowed as they are responsible for the massive bangs that upset animals and some people,” says Sandi Burger, the public relations and promotions manager at the Wild Coast Sun.

The Wild Coast Sun’s annual new year firework display is extremely popular. Year after year, people flock to the complex to see the display.

“Last year the Wild Coast Sun received no complaints from neighbours thanks to the decision to use low noise fireworks. This year’s 15-minute long show will be produced by professional firework ‘choreographers’ Fireworks King.

The show will start just after midnight as a fitting climax to the Wild Coast Sun’s New Year’s Eve Dinner Dance. To book for the dinner dance, contact 039 305 2824.
