Action-filled long weekend for Rust Bucket

The Rust Bucket museum will be open to the public throughout this long weekend, when its popular Bucket Bites Kitchen and Cafe will be up and running to ensure that no visitors go hungry.

This new museum in Oribi houses a treasure trove of stationary engines, farm machinery (including a tractor) from yesteryear, a rust bucket or two and all sorts of old collectibles and curiosities. It has an attractive rural setting and overlooks manicured polocrosse fields, which will be put to good use over the long weekend.

The owners are pleased that the museum has been chosen for an outride destination during Africa Bike Week, May 1 to 4. Bike riders will be able to take the scenic route through the Oribi Gorge Nature Reserve then stop at the museum at the top of the gorge for refreshments at Bucket Bites Kitchen and Cafe. All bikers, not only Harley-Davidson riders, will be welcome. Registered Africa Bike Week riders will each receive a free draft beer.

Paddock Polocrosse Club and the Rust Bucket will host the Midlands Champs Polocrosse Tournament from May 2 to 4. Anyone interested is invited to come along and watch the games, scheduled on both the Saturday and the Sunday.

Complementing all the polocrosse action on Sunday May 4, the museum will host a classic cars and bikes park and show. The museum has invited Sports and Specials and all classic car and bike owners to take a drive out to the museum to show off their vehicles.
