Art and crafts on show in Margate

AN exhibition of work by South Coaster Ines Aab-Tamsen opens at the Quinta Portuguese Restaurant in Sebenza Village this Saturday, June 14, at 3pm.

It runs at this venue until June 21 and will be open daily from 9am to 5pm. Ines, a member of Art-by-the-Sea for many years, is a versatile artist who uses a variety of media, including oils, watercolours, gouache and pastels.

She is particularly well known for her bold, bright plant life studies highlighting the beauty of leaves, flowers and trees. Ines is also a popular art teacher and a mentor to many less experienced local artists.

Also taking place at Sebenza Village, every Saturday and Sunday, from 9am to 2pm, is a craft market hosted by ‘The Oddities’ Craft Shop. As well as providing a showcase for local talent, the craft market will offer a sand art display, face painting and other family entertainment.
