Azalea hosts Melody Makers
JOIN the Melody Makers, a popular choir from Mbango, for a walk ‘Down Memory Lane’, a musical commemoration of the Normandy Landings and the outbreak of World War I, at Azalea Hall, Margate Retirement Village, on Saturday, July 12, at 2pm for 2.30pm.
This year, June 6 marked the 70th anniversary of World War II’s Normandy or D-Day landings. It is also 100 years since the outbreak of World War I. For this reason the choir, under the direction of Barbara Bosman, has put together a programme of songs from both world wars. Their show has been very well received, with the Melody Makers earning a standing ovation when the show was performed at Mbango recently.
The Azalea performance is expected to be well attended. Tickets are R30 and will be sold at the door. The price includes a free glass of wine or fruit juice or a cup of coffee or tea.
