Azalea offers musical treat

FRESH from his recent, much-applauded run at Rhumbelow Theatre in Durban, where his new show, ‘Stage by Stage’ was critically acclaimed, golden-voiced Jonathan Roxmouth is visiting the South Coast.

He will present ‘Stage by Stage’ at Azalea Hall, Margate Retirement Village, on Monday, August 11, at 6.30pm for 7pm. Seating will be theatre style. Bar facilities will be available. Tickets at R60 are on sale at the village’s RAC and admin offices or at Ramsgate Stationers, Southcoast Mall.

This new show, which was very well received by his Durban audiences, has a simple format and sees Jonathan alone on stage with nothing but a microphone and his favourite songs from the musicals. He takes his audience on a showbiz ride unlike anything he has done before.

‘ Stage By Stage’ is made up of songs from shows he has done, songs from shows he is doing and songs from shows he hasn’t done yet. In between these are backstage stories and anecdotes that will have you chuckling.

Highlights include ‘Bring Him Home’ from ‘Les Misérables’, ‘Music of the Night’ from ‘The Phantom Of The Opera’, ‘If I Loved You’, ‘Carousel’ and ‘This is the Moment’ from Jekyll And Hyde, to name a few.
