Cars in the Park coming up soon

THE Vintage Sports Car Club will host its 40th annual Cars in the Park show at a new venue, the Ashburton Training Centre, in Pietermaritzburg, on Sunday May 17.

Attending this event, one of South Africa’s biggest annual motoring happenings, is always a popular outing for Sports and Specials car enthusiasts. However, this year, all car owners who wish to exhibit their cars will have to register individually and will need to do this themselves.To register your vehicle for the event log onto carsinthepark and follow the easy instructions.

Sports and Specials car owners who have registered their vehicles or who wish to attend the show as a spectator will meet at Umtentweni Spar on the day of the event, May 17, at 7.30am. They will then motor up to Pietermaritzburg together.

As usual, this year’s Cars in the Park will feature a wonderful range of special vehicles, bikes and machinery and there will be events tents for vehicles of 40 years old or over. The South African winner of the Canon Ball race in the USA will be in attendance and there will be sky divers, a beer garden with live music, food and flea market stalls and a children’s play area.
