Don’t miss the Diwali show

THE most auspicious of all festivals, Diwali will be observed on November 2 and 3. Deepavali or Diwali is celebrated with great joy and is the most important of all Hindu festivals.

Rows of oil lamps and candles will adorn the entrances of all Hindu homes, fireworks will be lit, sweetmeats will be eaten and also distributed to family and friends.

Ahead of the festivities South Coasters can look forward to an additional celebration to be hosted by the Port Shepstone Hindu Cultural Federation.

The Diwali Show will be staged at the Marburg Sports Complex this Saturday, October 26.

Proceedings kick off with a colourful and vibrant procession from the Shoprite parking area at 10am and will proceed to the Port Shepstone Civic Centre. The entertainment segment of the show at the complex gets under way from 5.30pm and organisers have arranged a great line-up of entertainment.

Sharu Sobie will be the emcee for the evening.

Local cultural organisations will also entertain with both north and south Indian music, dance and plays and there will be a massive firework display.

There will also be a bangra bash, featuring Disco Fantasy. Supper will be served.
