Enjoy a Valentine’s Day picnic
THIS February 14, why not show the one you love just how much they mean to you by treating them to a day out at one of the South Coast’s most beautiful locations? Crocworld Conservation Centre’s extensive indigenous gardens and stunning sea views provide the perfect backdrop for romance, while its varied and unusual inhabitants are sure to offer hours of entertainment for visitors of all ages. This Valentine’s Day weekend, the Centre is inviting members of the public to celebrate their special day with a picnic on the park’s lawns, allowing them to bring in refreshments at no extra cost.
The celebrations will take place on February 14th, 15th and 16th, giving visitors plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful grounds of the Centre. During the day, guests will be able to enjoy all that Crocworld Conservation Centre has to offer, from a snake tunnel with a variety of venomous and non-venomous snakes, to outside aviaries filled with a variety of captive bred bird species. Of course, the Centre’s most famous attraction is its extensive family of crocodiles, including centenarian favourite Henry the Nile crocodile. Henry definitely draws the crowds, although his reputation for going through wives suggests he could learn a lot from the sentiments behind the Valentine’s Day celebrations!
For those more excited by flora than fauna, the Centre’s grounds are a model of indigenous landscaping, edged by lush coastal forest that leads down to the blue expanse of the Indian Ocean. Nature trails and the natural beauty of the South Coast is sure to set the mood for an unforgettable Valentine’s Day out.
Guests are asked to refrain from bringing alcohol onto the premises; however, the Centre’s on-site restaurant is fully equipped to cater to the needs of those wishing to celebrate over a drink or two. Le Rendez-Vous Restaurant also offers delicious and well-priced food for those who do not wish to go picnicking, while its ocean views are nothing short of spectacular. Crocworld Conservation Centre truly does have everything you need to enjoy a wonderful, unique day out with the special person in your life – so come on down and feel the love! Entrance rates over the Valentine’s weekend will stay the same as usual, at R60 per adult, R40 per child and R45 per pensioner.
