Festive song and dance on offer at Azalea Hall

TREAT yourself to a festive evening of song and dance when singer Anne-Marie Clulow and dancer Kevin Ellis present their sparkling supper theatre offering, ‘Showstopper Christmas’ at Azalea Hall, Margate Retirement Village, on December 9 at 6pm.

Anne-Marie recently won the 2017 BroadwayWorld.com award for ‘Best Featured Actress’ in a South African musical for her role in the KickstArt and Pieter Toerien production, ‘Sweeney Todd’.

She has sung in the Sun City Superbowl as part of the South African group, ‘Ballyhoo’, and was in the line-up with Johnny Clegg for the Nedbank Golf Challenge. She has sung at breakfast for Oprah at the Palace of the Lost City, been nominated for a Naledi award for her portrayal of ‘Mrs Potts’ in the Disney musical, ‘Beauty and the Beast’ and in 2010 played a dual role in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s ‘Cats’. A well-travelled entertainer, she has and played saxophone and sung with various South African acts in Bahrain, Cairo, Seychelles and Abu Dhabi, as well as doing a stint on the MSC Symphony as the featured cabaret act.

She also understudied the operatic lead in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s ‘Phantom of the Opera’, played Svetlana in the musical ‘Chess’ and has performed as a cabaret artist in various musical reviews and shows throughout South Africa including a recent Queen tribute show.

A renowned Durban dancer, Kevin is the current European and World Singles Line-Dancing Champion. He has also travelled the world and gained the knowledge and experience that has made him famous as a South African style guru, a top fashion stylist and a talented choreographer.

As this is a supper theatre offering, don’t forget to pack a picnic supper and to bring your own refreshments. Doors open at 6pm and the show starts at 7pm. Book your tickets, at R70 per person, at Margate Retirement Village admin or RAC offices.
