Floral feast at St Margaret’s

THE Spring Floral Festival, hosted by St Margaret’s Anglican Church in Margate on Friday and Saturday, August 30 and 31, will be a feast of flowers and family fun.

The church will be decorated with exquisite flower displays which will be on view on the Friday, between 9am and 4pm, and Saturday, from 8.30am, to 2.30pm.

On Saturday, there will be a mini market, with arts and craft and home produce stalls and there will be all sorts of entertainment, including a dog show and a snake show. The renowned Thembelihle Children’s Choir from Howick will entertain visitors on Saturday from noon to 1pm.

A reasonably priced and delicious lunch will be served at 1pm. Visitors are cordially invited to attend the church’s Evensong service, which will be held at 2.30pm.

A special event will be a workshop by professional floral artist Pam Harvey from Durban. It will be held in the church hall on the Saturday from 9.30am to 11am. Tickets for the workshop are R45 and can be purchased from the church’s office at 039 3120415.
