Folk festival promises to be a real treat
ORGANISERS are already gearing up for one of the biggest South Coast music and art events, the annual Arts, Crafts, Folk and Acoustic Music Festival.
It will once again be held in the tranquil grounds of the Sanctuary of Love in Melville and will take place on Youth Day, June 16, from 10am to 5pm.
The main attractions for this year’s festival are still being kept under wraps but will be announced soon. The organisers promise that the yet-to-be-announced performers will blow the South Coast away on Youth Day.
Entrance to the festival will be by donation. As well as the music there will be plenty to do, eat and drink. Stalls and displays by local crafters will offer everything from surfboards, fine art, musical instruments and jewellery, to home-made preserves and cakes.
Bring umbrellas and blankets – and the whole family. For younger visitors there will be opportunities to take part in the music, a puppet show at 9.30am and circle dancing between the performances.
Local artists and crafters are invited to book a stall to sell their local, preferably hand-made, art and crafts by telephoning Kerry-Lee at 083 2717439. A stall costs R100 if booked before the end of the month or R150 if booked from June 1.
