Food Festival will be fabulous

THE Margate Food Festival takes place on Margate beachfront on October 4 and 5.

The festival, hosted by Ugu South Coast Tourism Margate subcommittee, will offer food trailers representing all corners of the culinary world.

These will be set up on Panorama Parade overlooking the Indian Ocean.

The food court area will offer delights such as Norwegian snoek pate, seafood, Scottish salmon and cream cheese bagels, Portuguese chicken, German sausages, French crepes, American gourmet burgers and more.

Local beachfront restaurants will be running festival specials offering guests ‘ribs and craft beers’, ‘wine and prawns’ plus a whole host of other special menu options.

The Kitchen Living by The Sea Taste Kitchen will provide the backdrop for local chefs who will be preparing their signature dishes in the hopes of winning the coveted ‘South Coast Chef of the Year’ title.

Loads of fun prizes are up for grabs, including ‘Dinner for a Year’, where one lucky couple will win 12 meals at the South Coast’s top 12 restaurants.

The children can expect a inflatable Jump Town, mechanical swings, vegetable peeling, banana and chili eating competitions and much more.
