Former Flames singer in Ramsgate

IF you are a South African of a certain age, you will immediately associate the name Steve Fataar, with ‘The Flames’, one of South Africa’s best loved bands during the 1960s and 1970s.

An African music icon, former Flames singer Steve Fataar, will be at Burlesque Café in Ramsgate on Saturday, May 30. He is respected for his engaging, laid-back style and for his delivery of poignant stories in song.

His long and illustrious musical career includes touring Europe with the ‘Beach Boys’, touring Australia along with the ‘Rolling Stones‘ and touring 30 States in the USA where his music charted top 10 in a dozen states and entered the Billboard charts.

Steve has performed two concerts at the Royal Albert Hall, one in the presence of Her Royal Highness, the late Princess Margaret. He eventually left Hollywood, where he had settled, to return to KwaZulu-Natal to share his music experiences with his home-grown fans. At the age of 72, he continues to astound audiences with his classy sounds.
