Good moon rising at PSCC

FULL moon and bonfires will light up the Port Shepstone Country Club courtyard this Friday-the-Thirteenth for a ‘Howling Moon Open Mic’ evening.

This rather ‘informal concert’ is free and open to anyone to play or just to enjoy the vibe. ‘Impresario’ Ian Stewart has organised a mix of music and stand-up comedy, promising a fun evening for the whole family.

“A few of the better known local musos will be playing, but the evening is also open to anyone who enjoys performing for a forgiving audience,” he said. “We’ll provide the sound system. Just bring your voice or instrument.”

Of the more accomplished musicians, newcomers to the South Coast ‘Jamie and Son’ will be playing their unique brand of blues. Jamie uses a personalised ‘laptop guitar’ which was specially built for him in Johannesburg after he injured his arm in an accident.

The two are already well-known to music lovers who frequent Rock Bottom Music Bistro at Pumula on Sunday afternoons. Club caterers, Saffron Chefs, will be offering a special menu as well as braai packs and salads.
