Heritage Festival is for the family

SINGER-songwriter Jason Hartman will be headlining at this year’s Spiller’s Wharf Heritage festival in Port Shepstone, taking place between September 21 and 24. Jason, the 2009 South African Idols winner, who is currently embarking on a epic ‘Rock ‘n Ride for Rhino’ tour of South Africa will be part of the grand finale of the official opening of the new Criterion Yamaha premises at Spiller’s Wharf on Saturday, September 21 at 3pm. The opening is followed by Jason’s fund-raising concert at Spiller’s Wharf at 7pm. The Heritage Festival, which was a huge hit last year, promises to be even bigger and better. The jam-packed four-day festival will be a fantastic outing for the whole family. Visitors to the popular venue on the bank of the Mzimkhulu River can expect traditional dancing, music from the Scottish pipe band and an enactment by the Norwegian settlers. There will also be jazz on the river, loads of entertainment for the children, a film festival, a potjiekos competition, a market and various boating activities on the river. Car enthusiasts can marvel over the classic and contemporary sports cars on show on Sunday, September 22.
