Nibs van der Spuy ro rock Ramsgate

Acclaimed South African Folk Roots guitarist, Nibs van der Spuy will join forces with Iranian musician, Yasamin Shahhosseini for a South African tour. The ‘Roots & Clouds’ tour will be in Rocky Ridge, Ramsgate on Sunday, February 11 at 1pm.

Although the two artists have not physically met, they have been sending each other musical ideas.

Nibs said: “I have never been as excited about a collaboration since Yasamin and I have decided to work together. She is so rooted in her deep Persian tradition, at the same time she wants to fuse her influences with my Southern African folk and world styles; and I truly believe this a recipe for an incredible collaboration.”

He added: “Living on different continents, we have already started the creative process, by sending each other ideas. This has really stretched me by leaps and bounds and I truly believe something special is going to come out of this. Trying to learn a new musical language to fit in with my South African soundscape has really made me shift gears. I am almost sure that this will all end up on a new album.”
