Art demo by oil painter Anton Benzon in Ramsgate

The popular monthly demonstrations held at the Artists’ Gallery in Ramsgate are going strong with both art lovers and artists relishing the opportunity to get inside well-known artists’ minds and glean knowledge, tips and techniques.

The next ‘demo’ will be with well-known master oil painter, Anton Benzon. The demo will take place on Saturday, March 24 at 10am. R80 includes the demo, a cup of tea or coffee and a slice of something delectable. Contact Dianne at 082 4959810 to book a seat.

Anton is one of South Africa’s leading impressionists. His work reflects a harmonious balance between style, composition and colour, brilliantly portraying the warmth and tranquility of the South African landscape.

His travels between Johannesburg, Western Cape, Zimbabwe and KwaZulu-Natal have provided him with a deep love of the Southern African landscape and a rich source of inspiration for his renowned work.

As the son of well-known South African artists, Johan Oldert and Elize Laidler, Anton was born to paint. Anton’s paintings are sold in galleries throughout South Africa and can be found in many prestigious and private collections abroad.

He will be sharing his techniques while painting a landscape with oils on canvas with an assortment of brushes and his wry sense of humour.
