Parasport champion Andy to visit Margate

ANDY Scott, a champion for SA Parasport, will share a motivational message at Margate Bowling Club on Friday, October 24 at 6pm.

Andy contracted polio with full paralysis of the legs and lower abdomen at the age of three months.

He led an extremely active life and now suffers  from post polio syndrome.

He has represented Rhodesia, Zimbabwe and South Africa at numerous paraplegic and international games, and has won 28 medals for various swimming events.

Andy also broke 13 world records in a career spanning 22 years. He became the youngest world record holder in paralympic history in Tel Aviv in 1968.

Since 1995, he has promoted sport for the disabled in South Africa, and has raised in excess of R300-million.

He has won many other awards, too numerous to mention.
