Please help hospice by buying a ‘flea’

SOUTH Coast Hospice is raising funds to reopen its Kingfisher House in-patient unit and needs your support.

It will be holding a ‘Hospice Car Park Flea Market’ this Saturday, November 29 from 9am to 1pm.

There will be many stalls to browse around, and tea, coffee and cakes  will be available from the hospice stand.

Hospice’s fundraising coordinator, BT King, said that this is an ‘awareness event’ to inform the community that hospice is still open and operating, despite the closure of Kingfisher House.

“Patients are still being seen by Dr Andre Nel in the unit and visited and taken care of by our caregivers and Sr Sheila Smook and her teams,” she said.

She said the non-profit organisation receives no funding from government and, without the community’s support, it would not be able to continue its important work.

The cost of a stand is R70 for stallholders and they can keep their own sales money.

The flea market will be held behind the Kingfisher House building. Parking is limited at the back so vendors are asked to arrive early in order to drop off their stand equipment.
