Popular singer on stage at Azalea
TALENTED South African singing star Louis-John will present his cabaret show, ‘Nostalgia Classics’, as a supper theatre production at Azalea Hall, Margate Retirement Village, on Saturday, May 24, at 6pm for 7pm.

Free-state born and bred, Louis-John is a classically trained singer who has two successful albums to his name. He has a wide repertoire of evergreen favourites, including songs from well-loved musicals, South African hits from yesterday, old favourites like ‘Danny boy’ and gospel music.
His talent was discovered in 2000 by Du Preez Stolz who encouraged him to start vocal training that same year. In 2001 Marita de Klerk in Bloemfontein took over his classical vocal training, After moving to Gauteng in 2006, he continued his training with Lorraine Havemann du Toit.
When his first album, ‘My Stem in die Wind’ was released in 2009, it achieved record sales far beyond expectations. His second album, ‘Berge van Verlange’, released last year, also did well, his fresh, commercial approach to classical music making this album a pure listening pleasure.
Passionate about his music, Louis-John is also able to relate to – and entertain – people of all ages. While known for his professional approach to his musical career, his warm connection to his audiences makes him a popular entertainer. He gets on extremely well with his older fans and is actively involved with ‘Help Seniors’, an organisation that promotes the well-being of older people.
Recently, Louis-John has compiled a production that pays tribute to the legendary American singer and actor Pat Boone. He plans to take this new show, ‘Pat Boone Classics’, featuring all those timeless Pat Boone hits, beyond the South African border.
As well as a professional singer, Louis-John is a popular motivational speaker and is currently writing a book on healing severe emotional hurt. He also does a little modelling, some commercial studio work and has interests in several business enterprises.
