Roll up for the annual Melville Music and Folk Festival

The eighth annual Melville Music and Folk Festival takes place at the Sanctuary of Love in Beach Road, Melville on Youth Day (June 16th) from 10am. The festival is known for great acoustic music, featuring well-known bands and showcasing ‘new’ local talent.

Popular band ZiSaMo (members from ZImbabwe, SA and MOzambique) will be back and other musicians include Cornelius, Fireside, performing art students from the Gamalakhe campus of Esayidi TVET, Julian Damon and the Sanctuary of Love choir.

David Marks will host the music and will perform solo, as well as with members of the Sanctuary of Love choir. Participatory drumming and dancing circles will give everyone a chance to try something new between sets.

The Sanctuary of Love is home to the Melville Spiritualist Church. Eight members of the church will be in the sanctuary building between 10am and 2pm to provide clairvoyant readings. To book a reading, call Mary at 082 3495417.

There’s always plenty to eat and drink at the Melville Festival, but it’s really all about fun, community togetherness and upliftment – food for the soul.
