This band ‘rises’ to the occasion

THE band, ‘Rise’, formed seven years ago and going strong, will make a reappearance at The Rock Music Bistro this Saturday evening, from around 6pm. A cash bar will be available.

Entry is free but the hat will be passed around for donations.

The Rise line-up includes deejay, keyboard player, percussionist and vocalist Colin Peddie, lead singer Kerry Wood and guitarist Simon Hampton.

The band has entertained at the Durban Botanic Gardens, Mr Price Pro, World Cup rugby launch, Smoking Dragon Festival, Mkuze cricket tournament, Durban July and many clubs and events around the country.

As the headline band at Smoking Dragon Festival in 2013, ‘Rise’ combined with ‘Blue Fire Dancers’, using laser and special effects to create a spectacular show. The musicians continue to write new, original songs and recently shot their first professional music video for the song, ‘Pop Tart’.
