Tuesday Rostrum welcomes Gcina Mhlophe to April AGM
Tuesday Rostrum’s guest speaker at the April luncheon will be one of South Africa’s finest authors. Gcina Mhlophe, who is a poet, playwright, director, performer and storyteller, will address Rostrum members after the women’s club’s annual general meeting.
Gcina is well-known around the world and has appeared in numerous theatre, film and television productions in South Africa, Europe, Japan and the United States of America. She will be at Mbango Valley on Tuesday, April 10 at noon. The guest speaker, who is captivating, charismatic and stimulating, will use her extensive skills as a storyteller to bring her presentation to life, as she will talk about: ‘Are Women Being Honoured Enough?’
The multi-talented storyteller has an honorary doctorate in literature from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. She has written many children’s books and cooperated with READ Education Trust on literacy projects for children. She has also worked tirelessly for the past 16 years running the Nozincwadi Mother of Books Literacy Campaign to help make South Africa a reading nation.
