Streaked and shaved for charity

Spray cans and razor blades helped set new hairstyle trends at the Cansa Shavathon.

SHOPPING centres were abuzz last Saturday as shoppers supported the Cansa Shavathon. Young and old took part in the Cancer Association of South Africa’s (Cansa) annual Shavathon fund-raiser held at Southcoast Mall, Shelly Centre and Hibiscus Mall.

At the Hibiscus Mall, members of the Ramsgate Lions Club went out of their way with their ‘hair-raising’ tasks. Shoppers had their hair colour-sprayed leaving with fancy flowers, lightning and star prints in their hair, while some shed a tear or two, opting for something more low maintenance and decided to shave their hair off in memory of friends or family affected by cancer.
