Hibberdene Academy attends open day
It was amazing how many pupils are interested in tertiary education.

HIBBERDENE Academy’s gr 9, 10 and 11 pupils attended the open day at the Durban University of Technology on Friday. It was a very valuable exercise to showcase the courses on offer and also as an eye-opener to see the numbers of pupils out there who are also wanting a tertiary education.
Gr 9 pupils learnt how to cultivate organic compost and then planted cauliflower seedlings into the matured compost – teachers and pupils can hardly wait for the first crop. The foundation phase and intermediate phases then played and learnt many things at the beach last Friday. It is amazing how few understand the many scientific, biological or creative writing lessons to be found at the beach.
