HIBISCUS Coast Municipality has introduced Nelisiwe Thabatha as the new head of department for the corporate services department.
The announcement was made at a media briefing held at the municipality’s council chamber last week.
“She will join the municipality from October 1,” said HCM mayor, Cynthia Mqwebu. “This follows a long process of filling senior management vacancies which the municipality embarked upon in December last year.”
Ms Thabatha is currently working at the Ekurhuleni municipality in Gauteng, as a customer care area head. She joined the metro municipality in 2004 as a senior legal advisor and later become a manager in the legal and corporate department of the same municipality.
Apart from her wealth of experience, she is an admitted attorney who holds a BA Law and LLB degree. In addition, she has obtained several qualifications which relate to finance, project management and policy formulation.
“The municipality welcomes Ms Thabatha and wishes her well for the duration of her stay,” concluded the mayor.
