Life Med opens its doors in Shelly Beach

A new chapter in healthcare on the South Coast began on Sunday, November 1, with the official opening of Life Med Medical Centre in Shelly Beach.

Dr Sainishkhel Maharajh celebrated the milestone alongside his grandmother, Gayathree Ramgoolam, family and friends, who gathered to mark the occasion.

Life Med Medical Centre will house Dr Maharajh, Impilo Pathologist Laboratories and dentist Hansraj Reshay, bringing a range of healthcare services together under one roof.

The opening was combined with a Wellness Day, where members of the public were offered a range of free and affordable health services, such as blood pressure, blood glucose and cholesterol checks, HIV screening, general health assessments, laboratory tests, weight and BMI checks.

Wellness advice, cancer screening and health education were also available, encouraging residents to take a proactive approach to their health and wellbeing.

Situated at Lot 117 Marine Drive, Shelly Beach, the new facility aims to make healthcare and preventative wellness services more accessible to the community.
