Stray bullet clips passenger

Police are searching for the shooter.

A PASSENGER on an Ugu Transport bus has a narrow escape after he was shot in the upper arm on Tuesday this week.

Police spokesman Captain Gerald Mfeka said the bus had stopped at Kwa-Nuswa Mahlabathini, Ezinqoleni to drop off passengers.

“The driver said he heard three gunshots. He continued on his way but stopped when he heard one of the passengers, Ndoda Gumede (31), shouting for help.”

Mr Gumede was taken to the Ezinqoleni Clinic for treatment. One of the bus’s windows and two tyres were damaged by the shots. Ezinqoleni SAPS are investigating a case of attempted murder and no arrests have been made.
