PORT Shepstone police arrested a 30-year old man in Albersville on Monday this week after receiving information that drugs were being sold in the area.
Police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid said Constable Travis Dickens arrested the man and upon searching his vehicle, found several parcels of dagga. “After questioning him, the police went to a house in the vicinity where they found a total of 770 parcels and some loose dagga in plastic bags,” she said. The total weight of the dagga is 9,591 kg. Dagga sells for R1.41 per gram on the street. Police also found 65 tablets, believed to be Ecstasy. The man was charged with dealing in drugs and will appear in the Port Shepstone court.
