Fund-raiser takes flight

Comedian Dix Vorster proved a huge hit.

MICHELLE Pearson from Shelly Beach can be branded a ‘bird angel.’ She nurses injured birds back to health, and has done so since she was a child.

Michelle’s day starts at the crack of dawn and ends at 8pm most evenings, so it’s not easy going. To make her work possible, she has appealed to the public to donate bird cages, bird seed and AV+ formula. She also dreams of erecting aviaries, and needs help with materials for building such cages.

With all this in mind, she organised a show at Douglas Mitchell Sports Grounds last Saturday. It featured Dix Vorster, a well known South Coast comedian. The event was well attended and a pleasing sum was raised.
