Blood stocks are extremely low

Donate now and help save lives.

THE South African National Blood Service in the KZN region is experiencing a critical blood shortage. Current blood stocks are below the required five day stock level. The recent school holidays may have contributed to this.

However, as the festive season approaches, SANBS is looking to community organisations, schools, tertiary institutions and businesses to support its call and help increase blood collections. Regular donors are urged to make their way to their donor centres to saves lives.

On the local front, the SMG South Coast team has heeded the call after staff member Ashoo Singh fell ill and required a blood transfusion.

“It was a wake up call for us. We wish Ashoo a speedy recovery,” said dealer principal Darren Staats.
