Choirs sing for hospice
The captivated audience dug deep into their pockets in support of South Coast Hospice.
CHOIRS from eight South Coast schools delighted once again at Voices for Hospice staged at Norwegian Settlers’ Church last Thursday evening.
This year’s event surpassed last years, with more than R12 000 raised from donations as well as the collection on the night.
South Coast Hospice CEO Di van Dyk said it was an absolutely fabulous evening. “The standard has been raised and the attendance was higher than last year. The participation from the schools was heartwarming,” she said. “Overall it was a wonderful event.”
Mrs van Dyk thanked everyone who supported hospice, and in particular the children who sang so beautifully. The Mcushwa High choir received praise, with Mrs van Dyk saying they were “uplifted by their wonderful voices”.
The community is encouraged to support South Coast Hospice’s next event, the annual Ride for Remembrance, which will start at the Southcoast Mall on Sunday, October 20 at 8am. Helium balloons costing R10 will be released in memory of loved ones. Contact BT King at 072 344 9546 for more information.
