Murder accused on the run

He is believed to be armed and dangerous.

POLICE are searching for Sandile Mzizi (30), who was supposed to appear for trial in the Ramsgate High Court on Monday this week . He is believed to be armed and dangerous.

Detective Warrant Officer Herman Pienaar of the Hibberdene SAPS Detective Service has secured a warrant for his arrest. Mzizi faces charges of murder, attempted murder, possession of an unlicenced firearm and ammunition, and defeating the course of justice.

Police spokesman Captain Thulani Zwane said Mzizi was initially arrested and released on bail of R5 000 in July last year.

He appeared in court at three subsequent postponements but disappeared off the radar before the start of the trial in July this year.

The community is cautioned against approaching, or attempting to arrest, Mzizi under any circumstances.
