The bodies have been identified as Willem Carel Denysschen (43), his partner Bernadette Pearl Eksteen (42), and her son Jean-Pearé Eksteen (20). “The landlord of the premises tried to contact the family last Thursday and found the gate locked,” said police spokesman Captain Vincent Pandarum. “Telephone calls went unanswered and, on subsequent visits to the house last Friday, Saturday and Sunday, he found the gate still locked. On Monday he become concerned and entered the premises. He made the horrific discovery and immediately alerted the police.”
Denysschen and Eksteen were found dead in the kitchen while Jean-Pearé was found in the bedroom. A a .22 revolver believed to belong to Denysschen, was found next to his body. According to police, there were no signs of forced entry. It is believed that the family had moved in to the house last month and were from Vanderbijlpark.
On Monday, the SPCA was called to remove four dogs and six puppies from the premises. The dogs had not eaten for five days. “They will be kept at the kennels,” said senior SPCA inspector Collin Chetty. He added that the family had taken good care of the dogs and hoped they would find a good home soon.

THE decomposing remains of three people were discovered in a house in Bauhina Road, Margate yesterday. The gruesome find was made by the family’s landlord, who had gone to the house to deliver their electricity account. The bodies of a woman (45) and her 22-year-old son were found in the kitchen while a 45-year-old man was found dead in the bedroom. All three had been shot. A firearm, believed to belong to the man, was found next to the body. According to police, there were no signs of forced entry. Two counts of murder and an inquest docket are being investigated. The names of the deceased are being withheld pending notification of their next of kin.
