PORT EDWARD Primary is extremely proud of Megan Bircher, who was awarded KwaZulu-Natal XCO colours for mountain biking – an outstanding achievement. Megan attended a prize-giving for races held throughout the year, receiving a medal for coming second overall in the Roag Series distance riding for the U12 sprogs age group, as well as one for achieving second place in the KZN XCO championships.
Pupils from Port Edward Primary took part in the biathlon at Creston College last Saturday. Cody McDonald came second, ‘JD’ Hattingh came third in the U13 age group and Embeth Viljoen came first in the U10 age group.
The following belts were awarded at the karate grading – Ethan Scorer and Kaylene van der Merwe each received their red one belts, Kamika van der Merwe was awarded her orange two belt and Tashil Moodley received his purple two belt.
Port Edward Primary held its ‘Carols by Torchlight’ last week. The pupils sang beautifully and the community came together to add to the Christmas spirit.
