TWO men armed with firearms, attacked and robbed a man at his home in Dumezulu Ward, near Port Edward last Sunday. The assailants entered the house at about 3pm while Cosmos Xolo (39) was preparing to go to work.
“According to the victim the men pointed the firearms at him and demanded ammunition,” said police spokesman Captain Gerald Mfeka.
“The men then found the safe which contained Mr Xolo’s firearm and demanded he hand over the keys. They then forced him to go to the nearby bush where they made him lie down on his stomach. They fired two shots, wounding him in the shoulder.”
The men fled, taking the safe. Mr Xolo was taken to Murchison Hospital were he was treated. He was discharged on Monday. No arrests have been made and Port Edward police are investigating a case of armed robbery and attempted murder.
