A WOMAN (40) was arrested for fraud by Warrant Officer Patrick Gosling and Constables Travis Dickens, Mzwakhe Makana, Raphael Smithwick, Lucky Mthembu, Armstrong Ncane and Prince Nzimakwe yesterday (Thursday).
“According to the complainant, someone phoned his furniture business on Wednesday and ordered 20 beds for a guest house in the Harding area,” said police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid. “The buyer arrived and paid with a cheque which was later established to be fraudulent. After receiving a tip-off, the officers went to a house in the Bhoboyi area where they found five mattresses and five base sets.
“The woman was arrested and charged for the possession of stolen property. “We are extremely grateful to the community for coming forward with information,” said Lt-Col Wiid. Police are now following up further information as to the whereabouts of the remaining 15 beds, which have been sold.
