Something fishy about this burglary

Police recovered a box containing fishing reels and several fishing rods.

PORT Shepstone SAPS have arrested three men who allegedly broke into a warehouse in Port Shepstone last Friday.

Ashvir Baldrash (30), Marcio Rossouw (27) and Robert Sukai (56) were arrested by Warrant Officer Patrick Gosling, Constable Travis Dickens and Cst Mzwakhe Makana at a business premises in Shelly Beach.

It is believed that one of the men was actually a manager at the business. Police recovered a box containing fishing reels as well as several fishing rods in a back room of the business premises.

“These items were allegedly stolen from the warehouse of another business in the Port Shepstone CBD earlier this month,” said police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid.

An angle grinder was also recovered which was allegedly stolen during a burglary at another business in town.

The three were charged and released on R2 000 bail each. They appeared in the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court for possession of stolen property.

Last Saturday five other suspects were also arrested for burglaries at these premises and they will still appear in court on housebreaking charges. Investigations are continuing.
