PORT Shepstone Islamic School, no stranger to success and outstanding achievements, has once again recorded a 100 percent pass, with 17 bachelor passes and five diploma passes.
The school’s top achiever, Khadija Bibi Gani obtained six distinctions and an A aggregate of 89.6 percent. Ayesha Bux obtained an A aggregate of 84.3 percent and 6 A’s. Hamna Tiwana obtained three subject distinctions and Zaheera Gangat and Nobuhle Ruwaiyda Khumalo attained two subject distinctions.
The school is amongst one of the four schools in the South Coast region to have achieved a 100 percent pass rate. Islamic School has continued to maintain its record of a 100 percent for the past 12 years.
The 2014 academic year commenced on January 13 with the staff induction meeting. The school welcomes Premchand Bhugwandin (senior physical sciences), Ruwaida Desai has joined the Afrikaans department and Swaleha Khan-Motala will be teaching geography in the FET phase.
To ensure that parents are informed about curriculum requirements, orientation meetings have been scheduled and parents are reminded to diarise the forthcoming orientation meetings recorded in the school calendar.
Islamic School, with its experienced staff, co-operative parents and pupils, and supportive board of governors is set on course for an exciting year ahead.
