PORT Shepstone Secondary hosted its annual awards function last Friday and honoured many dedicated pupils from grades 8 to 12 for their academic excellence. The function was well attended by parents, NGOs, the school governing body, stakeholders and sponsors to honour the 177 candidates who scooped 231 distinctions.
Receiving awards for first position from grades 8 to 11 were Jermaine Jarrard Buchaya, Calvin Mohunlal, Meshen Moodley and Suhail Ahmed Gangat, respectively. The grade 12 pupils once again brought honour and glory to the school with pupils Zaressa Chante Naidoo, who received the Dux Approxime award, Preneshen Naicker who received 9 A’s and Vishiven Appalraju, who was placed fifth in the Ugu District. All in all, the successful awards function only confirmed the sheer discipline, dedication and positive attitude inherent in the pupils and teachers of the institution alike.
The principal, staff and governing body extend heartfelt gratitude to all sponsors for their generosity, which ensured that the awards function was a resounding success.
