South Coast Rally 2014 happens this weekend
The first South Coast Rally takes place in Margate this coming weekend.
LOCALS can expect a considerable increase in motorcycle traffic in Margate this weekend from January 31 to February 2, as the first takes place. An estimated two hundred upcountry bikers will join a hundred local riders in what the organisers hope will establish the lower South Coast as a premium motorcycle rally destination.
Whilst the rally, which takes place from Friday through to Sunday, will be held at the Santana Holiday Flats in Duke Road, Margate, it is anticipated that many bikers will take time out from the numerous rally activities to explore the area and sample the offerings of local eateries.
For their rally entrance fee of R220, the bikers will receive a goodie bag, a cloth badge, live music, a three course sit-down meal on Saturday night, beach games, free entry to the ‘Rally Hunt’ with a six-day holiday prize for four people, biker-related stalls, secure covered parking and automatic entry for the big cash prizes. Metal badges and T-shirts will be on sale. Day visitors who purchase a R100 entrance ticket will receive a cloth badge and be able to enter the rally on all three days. The hosts, Santana Holiday Flats, The Pumphouse Bar and Restaurant and the KZN South Coast chapter of the Ulysses Motorcycle Association extend an invitation to motorcyclists of all races to come along and meet old mates and make new ones in a relaxing, luxurious and secure environment.
